Psalm 78:5-7 "He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments."

This is perhaps the strangest Sunday morning we have experienced, perhaps ever. Not gathering together today seems rather foreign, and I admit I'm not sure how to go about a Sunday morning that doesn't include our worship gathering (or the occasional vacation out of town.)

Yet, our Father is a good father who gives good gifts to us, His children. And it may be that Jesus is giving us this "opportunity" (of self-isolation, of not being permitted to gather together) to perhaps help us each consider in new ways how we can make Jesus more prominent and the gospel more central in our homes and families.

On this strange Sunday morning, let's covenant to pray for and consider how to encourage each other as adults/spouses/parents how we can in turn encourage the next generation in our homes to "set their hope in God and not forget the works of God."
